DFI EXPANDS INTO GRID-MONITORING TECHNOLOGY WITH DIAMON-FUSION® PROTECTIVE COATING FOR GRIDWARE’S GRIDSCOPE™ DEVICES, MANUFACTURED BY KEYTRONIC
Diamon-Fusion International (DFI) protective glass coating (nanocoating technology) supports protective glass components for Gridware’s solar-powered, pole-mounted grid-monitoring devices, manufactured with support from Keytronic.
IRVINE, Calif., August 18, 2026 — Diamon-Fusion International, Inc. (DFI), a global developer and manufacturer of advanced protective glass and surface coatings, has declared its ongoing role in a Keytronic manufacturing program supporting Gridware’s Gridscope™ grid-monitoring technology.
DFI reached an agreement in late 2025 to supply Diamon-Fusion® protective coating to Keytronic for use in manufacturing Gridware’s Gridscope devices. Production application of the coating began in June 2026. The coating protects the glass surfaces covering the devices’ small solar components.

Diamon-Fusion® Protects Gridware’s Solar-Powered Grid-Monitoring Devices
Gridware’s compact, solar-powered Gridscope devices are installed directly on utility poles. These devices monitor physical, electrical, structural, and environmental conditions affecting power lines and surrounding infrastructure. The technology helps utilities identify and locate possible hazards, including conditions that could contribute to power outages and wildfires. Keytronic serves as an engineering and manufacturing provider for the utility-monitoring system, supporting the product from design and validation through production scale-up and ongoing manufacturing. DFI’s coating protects the glass surfaces covering the small solar components incorporated into the pole-mounted devices.
Protective Glass Coating Built for Demanding Outdoor Environments
The optically clear coating chemically bonds to the glass, creating an ultra-thin, water-repellent protective barrier. It helps reduce the adhesion of water, dirt, staining, and environmental contaminants that can accumulate on glass exposed to outdoor conditions. “This relationship with Keytronic is an exciting example of how Diamon-Fusion technology can provide value past traditional architectural and automotive glass applications,” said Adam Zax, CEO of Diamon-Fusion International. “Gridware’s technology is handling vital challenges involving grid reliability, public safety and wildfire prevention. We are proud that our protective coating is being incorporated into a product designed to run continuously in demanding outdoor environments.”
Flexible Diamon-Fusion® Application Methods for Industrial Manufacturing
Diamon-Fusion® protective glass coating is UV-resistant and requires no curing time, allowing treated components to be handled and incorporated into production immediately after application. DFI offers a range of Diamon-Fusion application methods to meet different needs, from individually packaged towelettes (DFI’s NanoPax®) to spray and on-site coating equipment. The Keytronic partnership establishes a strong industrial application for DFI and demonstrates the versatility of its coating technology for manufacturers that incorporate glass- and silica-based surfaces into specialized equipment.
DFI Expands into Energy, Infrastructure and Advanced Industrial Applications
“This represents an important company milestone and another step forward in DFI’s expansion into energy, infrastructure and advanced industrial applications,” Zax added. “There are significant opportunities for our technology to help manufacturers protect glass components that must perform reliably while exposed to weather, pollutants and other challenging environmental conditions.”
