Altreca Tower in Mexico Fashioned with Vitro’s HydroClean™ Powered by DFI
Irvine, CA, May 16, 2014 – Diamon-Fusion International announced, today, Vitro Architectural Glass, its licensee in Mexico, has fashioned a hydrophobic coating treatment, utilizing their 3D Chamber System designed by Diamon-Fusion International. The skyscraper project, known as the Altreca Tower in Monterrey Mexico, consisted of treating curtain wall glass, approximately 86,110 sq. ft. (8,000 sq. m.) in size, with HydroClean™ powered by DFI.
The selected material used on the Altreca Tower were of the highest quality which included, granite and marble floors/walls. Double tempered Low-E glass was also used in the west façade as a way to decrease the thermal load of the building by 20%. Finally, Vitro’s HydroClean™ protective glass coating was applied to the exterior glass façade, saving on water and chemical cleaner consumption. In addition to its easy-clean features, Vitro’s HydroClean™ enhances the brilliance of the glass, while also making it scratch and impact-resistant and keeping the building looking beautiful for years to come.

“DFI’s CVD coating system allows us to fashion large-scale projects in a fraction of the time it would take utilizing a hand-applied method. The ability for us to coat a jumbo-size glass sheet, coupled with the overall cost-effectiveness of DFI’s CVD process gives us a competitive advantage when bidding on projects similar to Altreca.” – Federico Sada Melo, Director of PVA, Vitro Flat Glass Business
“It is so pleasing to see Vitro successfully utilizing its 3D Chamber to be awarded these well-known, large-scale projects as a direct result of its application methods and efficient processes. The 3D Chamber by DFI provides Vitro with the most ample industrial flexibility and scalability, unmatched in the glass industry.” – Guillermo Seta, VP of Business Development, Diamon-Fusion International
